Ultraviolet (UV) FAQs (click on question to view answer)

A: When Virus is exposed to the proper UVC wavelength and dosage, the protein in the DNA is inactivated (destroyed) making it incapable of replicating - which means it can no longer spread.

The patent pending multiple pass design of our unit ensures the appropriate dosage to incoming air and by utilizing the Philips UVC bulbs in the Uvanna this ensures the most effective wavelength of UVC is being used.

A: 254 nm is most effective and is why we selected the Philips bulb. This bulb also has a coating to ensure that it does not emit harmful ozone.

For more information on the bulb, feel free to visit the Philips website for more details.

A: Yes, absolutely! It complements that setup perfectly because it's clear you understand the germicidal benefits of UV light after making such an investment however as you may know most HVAC UV systems are designed to sanitize the coil in your system and not to sanitize all of the air passing through.

This is because the volume of air and  the speed it is passing by the UV light generally prevents it from delivering the appropriate UV dosage to any large percentage of the air.

We do recommend utilizing the Uvanna system for the purpose of sanitizing the air and fully support the HVAC UV setup as it does a great job at its intended purpose - keeping the coil from building up microorganisms.

Uvanna FAQs

A: We are happy to announce that Newco is our distribution partner servicing the Office Coffee Service/Point of Use/Vending Operator channel. Please contact your Newco representative for more information for visit their website at www.newcocoffee.com

A: Physical air filtration, specifically those using HEPA filtration was the best affordable solution for many years to stop virus' from recirculating. This is no longer the case with the launch of the Uvanna Air sanitization system.

Listed below is only a small portion of the reasons our customers have made the switch

- High cost of replacement filters! Generally you are spending 30-40% of the initial cost of the unit each year for the disposable filter. Depending on the system you have could cost you an additional $100-$400 per year

-With the Uvanna unit only an annual bulb change that costs less than $30

-Convenience Most effective systems must be cleaned monthly and you will need to remember to change the filter 3-4 times per year

-Only an annual bulb change is required to ensure the virus, bacteria and mold are being effectively treated

- Availability of filters Most filter companies operate on the "razor & razor blade" business model. Once you purchase their unit you must purchase the filters from them for the life of the unit. With the supply chain issues that are ongoing, this is very limiting and may prevent you from obtaining the filters when you need them most..

-We intentionally designed the unit to not 'lock' you into needing to purchase the replacement UVC bulbs from us. They are readily available worldwide and you can purchase at a competitive price. See the "Where can I get a replacement bulb question below for details".

-Effectiveness As stated elsewhere, filtration doesn't inactivate (kill) pathogens, it only blocks them.

-The Uvanna unit effectively neutralizes the virus pathogens, regardless of size with no chance of recirculation off of a filter back into your environment

-Long Lasting Unlike most filtration units that are made with a plastic assembly, the commercial design of the Uvanna unit has an all metal housing that will ensure a sound investment for years to come.

A: We have a 1 year warranty on the Uvanna machine for all parts excluding the bulb. The bulb is rated for 9,000 hours usable life before it needs to be replaced. (~ 1 year of use 24/7/365)

A: Unlike some other products, we do not use a  proprietary connector on the  ballast.  This means we are not limiting you to purchase the replacement bulb from us.  You can purchase a replacement bulb from our shop, from our distributor partner Newco or another location like Amazon if that is more convenient for you.  Be sure to purchase only Philips bulbs that have the highest standard of quality control and the part number is - TUV PL-L 36W/4P

A: It uses 60w /.6 amps

A: Using the national electrical power cost of $0.12 per/Kwh, running 24 hours a day, it would cost ~ $62 per year in electricity.

A: No it does not. In addition, it has CARB certification required for sales in California.
